Excellent ski area and resort for families with teenagers and young adults
I travelled to many Club Meds before and it was my first time in Val Thorens. I chose this resort this time because I travelled with a 21 year old son and a 17 year old daughter and a group of friends and my sister without kids. I loved this place for our group. The resort was quiet and organized, the ski area is very big and with lots of blue trails options. The ski classes were nice and if you want to take a private class it was very easy to get one, Club Med has a nice attendant (Alexandra, brazilian) in this department. I liked the stretching classes and the Spa. The room was also very nice and comfortable. I loved the amenities such as bath oil, body lotion etc. I didn't like that my room had a partial view and didnt have a balcony because it was located on the 5th floor. I hope as a gold member I would receive a better located room. Ski lockers were good and with easy access to the ski area. The food was good but not excellent as I experienced in other Club Meds (such as Valmorel and Pragelato). I loved Val Thorens city and the aprés skis. I recommend this resort very much!

Val Thorens ecoerienca
All experience was absolutely excellent. The service was excellent, the food was above and beyond my expectation. The only problem was our instructor. The guy, named Elian, was OK, but his major goal was not to give his best to his group but to earn as much money as he possibly could. When all other ski groups had a great experience with all three valleys traveling around and exploring the area, this guy needed to come back to the same place by exactly 11:45 because he had a scheduled private lesson. Also he completely disregarded the fact that level 3A is supposed to do some off piste runs. When a quite a noticeable part of the group refused to ski is piste, he did not downgraded this part of the group, he preferred to take the whole group to easy slopes disregarding that some people actually wanted ca challenge . It was quite disappointed.

Good Hotel and Location
Excellent hotel in good ski in / ski out location. Food and drinks normal Club Med offering but excellent. Staff helpful and good all round.
Rooms (Superior) are good size and housekeeping staff do a thorough clean every day.

Club Med Val Thorens skiing
Overall a good stay, the location being truly and easily ski in and out. The room was spacious and comfortable, staff on the whole helpful and friendly, some such as Alexander, one of the barmen, excellent.
Generally the hotel is good, a few niggles such as the temperature in the room couldn’t be controlled and was always too hot, and the tables in the buffet restaurant were not cleared from the previous person.
It was a good stay, the skiing excellent, but I just felt for a premium offering it came up a little short in some areas.
